PS-112 (483.2.4)

This Customer Support Ruling discusses the eligibility of scientific instruments at the Library Mail rates of postage.

Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) 483.2.4*, states that scientific or mathematical kits, instruments, or other devices may be mailed at the Library Mail rate when sent to or from schools, colleges, universities, public libraries, museums, and herbariums, and to or from nonprofit religious, educational, scientific, philanthropic (charitable), agricultural, labor, veterans or fraternal organizations.

Thermometers, barometers, anemometers and similar items qualify under 483.2.4 for the Library Mail rate of postage when they are mailed under the conditions prescribed therein.
