UPDATE 221: International Mail Service Updates Related to COVID-19
On February 8, 2022, the Postal Service™ received a notification from Hongkong Post, the designated operator of Hong Kong, advising that due to the current pandemic situation, all airmail center staff have been required to work from home until they receive a negative COVID-19 test result. As a result, the processing and transportation of all inbound and outbound mail have been disrupted. Therefore, quality of service for all types of mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items), as well as inbound mail delivery services, will be affected until further notice.
Unless otherwise noted, service updates to a particular country do not affect delivery of military and diplomatic mail.
This service update affects Priority Mail Express International® (PMEI), Priority Mail International® (PMI), First-Class Mail International® (FCMI), First-Class Package International Service® (FCPIS®), International Priority Airmail® (IPA®), International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®), and M-Bag® items.
The DMM Advisory will continue to provide updates as they are received. For a full list of international service disruptions, please visit https://about.usps.com/newsroom/service-alerts/international/welcome.htm
