Balloting Materials Postage
Today the Federal Register published our Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) final rule that revises mailing standards to require all ballot types to include in their balloting materials a marking indicating that the proper amount of postage must be paid. The balloting materials must also indicate the specific amount of First-Class Mail® postage for the return of ballots, unless they are mailed under certain specified exceptions.
The effective date is October 7, 2013.
The Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) is available on Postal Explorer® (pe.usps.com). To subscribe to the DMM Advisory, send an e-mail to dmmadvisory@usps.com. Simply indicate "subscribe" in the subject line.
The DMM Advisory now posts weekly items on Postal Explorer (click on DMM Advisory button at upper right) and reserves email “push” messaging for important announcements such as notification of pricing Federal Register postings, messaging involving pricing and product changes, or a summary of the monthly changes to the DMM and IMM. Please check Postal Explorer at least once a week to stay current on IMb updates and DMM and IMM changes.
