January 18 Pricing Change – Shipping Services Reminder

We will adjust prices for the following shipping services on Sunday, January 18:

• Priority Mail
• Parcel Select
• Parcel Return Service
• Global Express Guaranteed (GXG)
• Express Mail International
• Priority Mail International
• M-bags

Our tools on usps.com/prices can help you prepare for the pricing change. You will find price lists, downloadable price files, Federal Register notices, and much more.

We will announce price changes for mailing services, including the new stamp prices, in February. Mailing services prices will adjust in May 2009. Watch the DMM Advisory to stay informed.

New Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box

On January 18 we’re introducing a smaller Priority Mail flat-rate box, priced the same as the flat-rate envelope, for both domestic and international shipments. With the new box, customers have four convenient flat-rate box options from which to choose.

The new box is about the same size and shape as three stacked DVD cases and is perfect for jewelry, electronics, event tickets, or other small items that need expedited shipping. Like all USPS-provided flat-rate boxes and envelopes, the new box is available free of charge.

Beginning January 12, customers can order the new box from our online Postal Store in packs of 10 and 25, up to a maximum of 200, to prepare for shipping January 18. The box will be available in Post Offices on January 18.
