UPDATE 164 International Mail Service Updates Related to COVID-19

On April 30, 2021, the Postal Service received notification from AB Lietuvos pastas, designated operator of Lithuania, advising that the Lithuanian Government has extended the full-country lockdown until May 31, 2021, in order to control the spread of the coronavirus. While the lockdown is in place, postal services will continue to operate with a reduced workforce under certain restrictions in order to minimize contact between people. Items normally requiring the addressee’s signature upon delivery will be handed over without signature. The processing and delivery of all types of inbound and outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) will continue to be affected, and Lietuvos paštas is unable to guarantee compliance with the usual delivery standards. Therefore, force majeure will continue to apply.

Unless otherwise noted, service updates to a particular country do not affect delivery of military and diplomatic mail.

These service updates affect Priority Mail Express International® (PMEI), Priority Mail International® (PMI), First-Class Mail International® (FCMI), First-Class Package International Service® (FCPIS®), International Priority Airmail® (IPA®), International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®), and M-Bag® items.

The DMM Advisory will continue to provide updates as they are received. For a full list of international service disruptions, please visit https://about.usps.com/newsroom/service-alerts/international/welcome.htm
