UPDATE 177: International Mail Service Updates Related to COVID-19

On June 14, 2021, the Postal Service received notifications from various postal operators regarding changes in international mail services due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The following countries have provided updates to certain mail services:

Spain UPDATE: S.E. Correos y Telégrafos has advised that although routes are now open to a majority of countries, Correos does not accept letter-post or parcel-post items for destinations to which no transport capacity is available. In view of the current situation in the country, operations may continue to be impacted. Therefore, until further notice, Correos remains unable to guarantee quality of service for all types of inbound and ‎outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) and to comply with delivery standards ‎for items requiring a signature.

Sri Lanka UPDATE: The Department of Posts has advised that due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, the government has extended the current strict island-wide travel restrictions until June 21, 2021. Although the Department of Posts will continue to operate under the current restrictions and safety guidelines, it is tunable to guarantee compliance with the agreed delivery standards for all mail categories.

Unless otherwise noted, service updates to a particular country do not affect delivery of military and diplomatic mail.

These service updates affect Priority Mail Express International^® (PMEI), Priority Mail International^® (PMI), First-Class Mail International^® (FCMI), First-Class Package International Service^® (FCPIS^®), International Priority Airmail^® (IPA^®), International Surface Air Lift^® (ISAL^®), and M-Bag^® items.
