744 Air Transportation Prohibitions

The following types of hazardous materials are prohibited from air transportation under any circumstances:

  1. Explosives: All classes of explosive materials.
  2. Items Affected by Pressure or Temperature: Anything susceptible to damage or that can become harmful because of changes in temperature or atmospheric pressures, unless adequately protected against the effects of such changes.
  3. Magnetic Materials: Materials with a field strength capable of causing compass deviations at a distance of 7 feet or more from any point on the outer packaging.
  4. Flammable Materials: Gases, liquids, and solids classified as flammable.
  5. Radioactive Materials: Any material designated as radioactive.
  6. Other Prohibited Materials: Hazardous materials excluded from air shipment by the regulations of 49 CFR § 100-185, or by the applicable country (refer to ICLs) or air carrier operator variations (refer to ICAO regulations).
